A new college is born!

The Provost has just circulated a memo embracing results from a recent study of the campus honors and ‘living learning programs’ (read: College Park Scholars), itself a made-as-instructed outcome commissioned a year ago. Among key changes that he wants to add to his growing presidential portfolio (since after all, Dan Mote is getting long in the tooth – historically we would anticipate a change at the top ‘real soon now’ and the Provost has obviously been thinking ahead) is creation of a new Honors College. His memo solicits proposals for fundamental new content in this fundamentally new organization. To be submitted by August 3.
Nothing says “we’ve already selected the winners” like a three week lead time to a hard campus deadline in middle of summer.
