China bans US scholars

The Bloomberg news report is titled “China’s Ban on U.S. Professors Elicits Silence from Colleges”.
We commend it to you … and to the College Park committees tasked with finding ways to find even more intellectual property and service to give to China. Obviously our colleagues must be careful in what they try to give away, since the present article confirms yet again that there are some things China doesn’t want to hear.

Obviously some people think such issues can get traction with the general public. A day after Rick Perry throws his hat into the presidential race we learn about his aggressive role in bringing to Texas a Chinese company that was flagged by the government as a national security threat to the US.
Everything in politics happens for a reason. Presumably the footage of Perry at a ribbon cutting ceremony yukking it up with agents of a hostile government was saved for use today for a reason.
Do you think College Park’s growing China mess will affect Governor O’Malley sometime down the line? Gosh, wonder if any of the decisions being made will blow back on him some day?
Do you think anyone is keeping track?
